This painting came to me quite vividly in a dream and I tried to re-create it as it appeared. Unsuccessfully, as in most cases with paintings that appear in a dream, but the result is still pretty close to what I saw.
In the bottom left corner you can see a 13-sided tile, dubbed the ‘Einstein tile’ or ‘The Hat’, which can infinitely tessellate (cover a plane without gaps or overlaps) in a pattern that never repeats.
In this painting, it doesn’t repeat at all which I find quite ironic.
