I carved this lowback sculpture out of a solid piece of maple wood. The wood was very dry and hard and it was quite a challenge to carve. It is the only lowback chair I have carved so far. A lot of its character comes from its wide seat and the rake and splay of the legs.
The chair measures 2-1/4″ wide by 1-3/4 deep by 2-1/4″ high (57mm wide by 37mm deep by 54mm high). The total height including the base is 4-1/2″ (113mm).
